Education: Mr. Stroly grew up in New York and attended New York City public schools. He went to Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration. After a few years working as an Assistant Administrator in a nursing home, Mr. Stroly entered graduate school at the New School for Social Research in New York City where he received his Master's Degree in Health Care Administration.
Experience: Mr. Stroly's work experience includes positions at nursing homes and continuing care retirement communities. He worked first as an assistant administrator and later as an administrator of several nursing homes in New York and Connecticut. He gained experience as well with independent living facilities, adult day care and assisted living operations during this time. Mr. Stroly was the Executive Director for Devonshire at PGA National in 2005 and 2006. From 1992 to 2005 he held the position of President and CEO of Duncaster, a CCRC in Bloomfield, Connecticut. In this position he managed over 250 staff, constructed a $29 million expansion including a state-of-the-art nursing home and fitness/aquatic center for senior wellness and raised over 23 million dollars for various projects.
Family: Mr. Stroly has been married for twenty eight years to his college sweetheart, Karen. Karen is a Reference Librarian in the Palm Beach County public library system. Mr. and Mrs. Stroly raised three children. The oldest, AJ (Andrew John,) is twenty five and works as an Assistant General Manager at a country club in Connecticut. Kristin, their middle child is an Athletic Trainer at Holy Cross University in Massachusetts. Their youngest, Caitlin is a sophomore at Rollins College in the 5-year MBA program.
