 | Sharing the Caribbean with La Posada Residents
On November 15th, Janice John, Lifestyles Coordinator, hosted an evening of "Sharing the Caribbean." Residents had the opportunity to visit Trinidad and Tobago right here at La Posada. The event was held to educate the residents on the history and culture of these islands. Many of the traditional island foods were available for residents to sample. Tassa drummers and cultural dancers also performed for the residents. In addition, traditional carnival costumes were on display. The reception was overwhelming! A question and answer session with the President of the Diaspora of Trinidad and Tobago was also informative. After the program, many residents expressed their enthusiasm and a desire to visit many other countries throughout 2009.
